About this Scholarship
The L-Ramp Innovation Awards recognize Indian innovators at any study level who create practical solutions for social problems. This award honors individuals whose low-cost, grassroots innovations improve daily life for underserved communities. It highlights the spirit of change-makers who address challenges in healthcare, agriculture, energy and water access.
The program is run by L-Ramp Innovation, a joint initiative of IIT Madras and Rural Innovations Network, with support from The Lemelson Foundation.
Eligibility Criteria
Open to Indian citizens at any educational level—students, researchers, professionals or grassroots inventors. Applicants must demonstrate a working innovation that benefits marginalized groups or solves a pressing local problem. There are no income or academic marks restrictions.
Innovations can be in any field, including but not limited to technology, agriculture, healthcare or renewable energy.
How to Apply
Submit an application through the official L-Ramp Innovation Awards page. Include a detailed description of the innovation, its social impact, and supporting evidence such as photographs, videos or testimonials. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a presentation or interview.
