History

Established in 1957, CSUF located in Orange County became the 12th State College in California which was authorized by Legislature. Around 1960, California State University Fullerton opened classes for students on its campus and occupied around 12 temporary buildings. In 1972, this university was named California State University Fullerton.

Further enhancing the value of CSUF degrees, many study programs have accreditation by professional agencies in the discipline. Cal State Fullerton is home to eight colleges. These are:

  • College of the Arts (COTA) - Offering study programs across dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. Cutting-edge facilities include an array of impressive performance spaces. COTA serves as a living laboratory for the arts.
  • College of Business and Economics (CBE) - CBE offers study programs across business administration, economics, and international business the college is the largest business colleges in California accredited by AACSB.
