Coburg University History and Background
The university began as a private school for civic architecture thanks to Friedrich Streib. 1852 saw the start of the Ducal Building School. In 1959, it was renamed to the Coburg State Polytechnic, before moving to its new building in Friedrich-Streib-StraBe. In 1971, it got renamed to the State University of Applied Sciences. The Campus Design campus at the Hofbrauhaus was started in 1999.
