Dear Faculty and Staff,One of the defining characteristics of Kean University is our unwavering belief that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. As we continue building one unified Kean University following our merger with New Jersey City University (NJCU), we remain committed to removing barriers, expanding opportunity and ensuring that every student has a pathway to earn a degree.Today, I am pleased to announce the launch of the Kean Fresh Start to Finish Program, a one-time debt-forgiveness and degree completion initiative that reflects our mission as an anchor institution and our commitment to student success.The program is designed to help eligible former NJCU students overcome financial barriers, return to college and complete the degrees they worked so hard to pursue. Students who meet the program requirements will have their legacy NJCU student account balance forgiven upon graduation from Kean University.This initiative represents more than financial assistance; it represents a renewed opportunity. It demonstrates our belief that circumstances should never define a student's future and that higher education has the power to transform lives, strengthen families and build more vibrant communities.Eligible students will receive direct communication from the University with information about the program and instructions for participation.Students may reach out to you with questions, so I encourage you to review the attached Kean Fresh Start to Finish Fact Guide & FAQ. The guide outlines program eligibility, participation requirements, frequently asked questions and guidance for responding to student inquiries.Please note that this is a targeted initiative for eligible students with an existing NJCU legacy balance who are in good academic standing.
