As an institutional accreditor, the HLC accredits the institution as a whole. Specific programs may additionally be professionally accredited, approved, or recognized by their respective agencies.
Michigan Tech is on the Open Pathway for reaffirmation of accreditation with the HLC. This pathway is for institutions that have been accredited for more than 10 years. As part of the Pathway's 10-year cycle, we will demonstrate a dedication to quality and improvement through submission of an assurance filing in year four (2025), engagement in a quality initiative project of our choosing during years five through nine, and another comprehensive evaluation for reaffirmation of accreditation in the academic year 2031-32.
