Financial aid, including grants, loans, scholarships and federal work-study, is available for students who attend South Dakota State University. About 97% of our first-time, full-time students qualified for financial aid in the 2025-26 academic year.
To qualify for federal financial aid programs, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid on studentaid.gov and meet the eligibility requirements for each type of financial aid.
You can also find information about the specific types of financial aid available and the eligibility requirements. Questions about financial aid should be directed to the SDSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at 605-688-4695.
As a citizen of the United States, you have the privilege to vote on your county, state and national leaders. As a part of the Higher Education Act of 1998, Congress directed schools receiving federal financial aid to assist students who have not yet registered to vote.
