The University of California San Diego is just a short trolley ride away from downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, and other city hotspots. There are over 60 fraternities, sororities, and cultural-based Greek student organizations. The campus features 10 athletic venues, including a 5,000-seat arena and a state-of-the-art athletic training center. The main campus of UCSD is located near the Pacific Ocean on around 1,200 acres of coastal woodland in LA Jolla, California. Athletics
The athletics teams of UC San Diego compete at the NCAA Division I level, with the exception of Men’s Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Water Polo, and Men’s and Women’s fencing programs that compete at the NCAA ‘National Collegiate’ level. The UC San Diego intercollegiate athletics program is now a member of the Big West Conference in the NCAA Division I. Some of the recreation facilities at the university are:
