A new plant has been named after Professor Jon Lovett, who discovered it in the Tanzania rainforests. Two University of Leeds teams have received a high honour for teaching and learning in UK higher education. Linguistics experts are searching for participants from a 1968 study to learn about how their accents have changed. The university has launched a new degree programme in partnership with Grant Thornton UK, combining academic excellence with paid work experience. Students have worked with a charity to create equipment for disabled people and have shared their experiences with Leeds MP Alex Sobel. A new study has found that trees in urban areas are effective in reducing harmful heat exposure and improving outdoor comfort in cities.
