From Swiss alphorn traditions to cutting-edge research on seabirds, faculty and students at University of the Pacific dove into more than 100 topics during the annual Research and Creativity Showcase. The event highlights outstanding student research and projects from across disciplines developed over the past year.

A University of the Pacific professor with the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy is leading a research team to help patients suffering from post-COVID 19 symptoms after successfully treating a woman using technology not available at any other pharmacy school.

University of the Pacific Professor Xiaojing Zhou, who stresses the importance of a strong teacher-student dynamic, is the inaugural recipient of the Lawrence Meredith Endowed Professorship in the Humanities. The five-year endowed professorship honors Meredith, who joined Pacific in 1966 and taught for 33 years.

University of the Pacific students presented projects on leading-edge research ranging from an analysis of proteins used to treat cancer and a study that analyzed music playlists to treat anxiety during the annual Graduate and Professional Student Research and Awards Showcase.
