Accommodation options available for students studying at NMIT include:
- On-Campus / Managed Student Apartments: Options such as Nikau Apartments near the Nelson campus provide single studios as well as shared two, three, or four-bedroom fully self-contained apartments. Weekly rates generally range from NZD 220 to NZD 330 per week (excluding electricity).
- Homestay Accommodation: Living with a local host family, which includes a private bedroom and meals, costing around NZD 14,000 per academic year.
- Private Rentals & Flatting: Shared apartments or private room rentals in the local community.
