History

In 1971, the University of Texas at Tyler was founded as Tyler State College. Four years later, it was re-named as Texas Eastern University. Then in 1979, UT Tyler became a part of the University of Texas system. Then, in 2021, the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Tyler became the part of UT Tyler.
