History
The formal establishment of Utrecht University is 1636. However, the founding of a university was decided in 1470. In the 18th century, the university expanded to around 400 students. In 1925, the faculty of Veterinary Medicine merged with the university. In 1992, State University Utrecht became Utrecht University.
